Raimund Abraham's design for the Austrian Cultural Forum inserts a blade-like structure into the street wall of midtown Manhattan. The structure almost has one story for every foot it is wide. Below are several of Abraham's sketches for the project, as well as a construction photo that gives some idea of the process used to squeeze this unique building in between its two neighbors.
