Program: A 9,000-square-foot two-story restaurant.
Design concept and solution: To enhance the simplicity of Tom Colicchio’s Southern artisan ingredients and seasonal menu, the architects designed a restaurant that features a natural palette and Southern élan. Cherry wood dining tables offer room for family-style dining. Natural, untreated walnut banquettes and steel hardware impart an organic ambiance. An open copper- and steel-clad wood-fired grill serves as the symbolic core of the two-story space, while a blackened steel and glass wine vault provides an elegant screen for the dining room. Leather and muslin accents are woven throughout the decor.
