The low, horizontal steel-framed building hosts office space for student registration, financial aid, student assessment and counseling, and campus administration. Student services are on the first floor, and administrative offices are on the second.
Although the building has a plaster-and-concrete elevation facing west, a two-story glazed eastern facade opens it to a quad. In this space, which serves as the outdoor social center of campus, the school shows movies and holds lectures, celebrations, and graduation ceremonies. From this vantage point, the administration building appears transparent, evoking a sense of accessibility.
Elongated rods of aluminum airfoil are extended the length of the building and beyond to shade the glass facade and entry terrace from direct sunlight, while allowing diffused light to pass through.
By night, the translucent eastern facade illuminates the quad, and is visible from many points on campus.
