Program: A 4,090-square-foot restaurant, 1,240-square-feet of which is the formal dining area.
Design concept and solution: After a damaging fire in April of this year, The River Cafe co-owners commissioned Stuart Forbes to redesign the restaurant within the original layout of the restaurant, without the walls and doors that had separated the chefs and staff from the guests. The renovated restaurant now reveals the inner life of the kitchen in an open floor plan that merges with the dining area.
