An arts center's lobby connects the street level to the building's sweeping view.

The new performance hall at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts opened recently after several years of planning, design, and construction. The hall is the centerpiece of the second phase of the center and it comprises the largest and most significant component, providing a venue of unparalleled quality in the region.  It consists of a 500-seat performing arts hall and music facility with extensive support facilities.

The design of this facility represents an attempt to express the spirit and the aspirations of this unique resort community, its culture, and its heritage.  It was designed by Arts Design Collaborative, which is comprised of Stephen Dynia Architects, design architect, and Carney Architects, executive architect.

The design places 200 seats at the orchestra level and 300 seats at the balcony level.  The balcony is accessed directly from the main entrance at street level, while those seated in the orchestra level descend down to the lower-level lobby, a large, dramatic space capped by a wood slat ceiling which covers the form of the underside of the balcony above. This lobby is enclosed by a glass wall, which provides a broad view of the iconic mountainscape of Jackson Hole to the south. The lobby also provides direct access to the pavilion.
