Virgin Atlantic’s new upper class lounge at JFK is an environment that celebrates both the power and possibility of New York City, and the excellence and irreverence of the airline. It is an urban oasis, entered into beneath a glittering waterfall and bounded by a 90-foot-long pool that accommodates dining along its interior bank.

Like a shimmering city-mirage, pearlescent, undulating screens define the bar and more intimate seating areas that combine comfort and privacy with a privileged view. These impressive structures, designed and fabricated using the latest in cutting-edge digital technology, are illuminated with soft and subtly color-shifting patterns, revealing at one scale the twinkling skyline, at another the glowing hearth. Within this setting, like in any good New York City neighborhood, all needs can be met without going far. Food and drink, power and digital ports, a soothing place to rest, or a chance encounter with a fellow traveler can all be found.

Open to the 40-foot ceilings of the main structure, with sweeping views of the terminal and the runway, the lounge becomes a stage for the unfolding story of each passenger’s journey.
