Program: A 330,000-square-foot window factory.

Design concept and solution: The architects were asked to design a large-scale extension for the G. Baumgartner AG production facility. Located on the outskirts of a small rural community, the extension was limited by the landscape. In order to merge the design of the factory with the pastoral surroundings, the architects designed a building to integrate nature and the factory. The outer facade is surrounded by a frame construction planted with indigent wild plants, and the area of field now occupied by the building has been replaced by a meadow on the projecting roof.
