O Dos Vasconcelos / Hotel Habita

Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico
Landa Arquitectos

A 39-guestroom hotel is nestled within a curvilinear mixed-use complex.

Hotel Habita is part of a sinuously curved 131,200-square-foot mixed-use complex that encircles an outdoor public space. In addition to the hotel, the complex features parking, commercial spaces, and apartment units. The 11,800-square-foot hotel portion is treated as an independent element within the complex.

The eight-story exposed concrete hotel is a unique ovoid plan. Hotel guests enter the building through a freestanding concrete and glass-encased ground level entryway that also serves as the entrance for the overall complex. The lounge, restaurant, bar, and business center are housed on the second floor; thirty-nine guestrooms are situated on the six upper levels. In a fitting touch even the canopy shading for the eighth-floor rooftop terrace is a thin concrete slab suspended from steel cables.
