Everything old is new again: Celebrating a family's heritage in hospitality

A leading name in hospitality for over a century, the Fasano family spent ten years planning and building their newest hotel, located on an active corner of São Paulo. Seeking to express the family's rich character and history, the architects designed a hotel that is at once contemporary and classic. The structure updates the architecture of the thirties and forties, with an austere façade of graduated setbacks, topped by an oversize clock.

The hotel's sleek form and details belie a much cozier atmosphere. From its start, the project demonstrated a sense of permanence; indeed, the family wanted much more than just an exercise in trendy design. In moving the reception desk to the back of the lobby, the architects let the pleasant bar ambience set the tone. With check in/out functions at the rear, guests are eased into the hotel experience.

A total of 64 rooms in suites of various sizes all overlook Jardim Europa, an historic residential neighborhood. A warm simplicity pervades the interiors, with browns and yellows complementing herringbone-patterned wood floors. Amenities include a rooftop pool, saunas, a spa, fitness center, business center, and a small restaurant for light meals–Nonna Ruggero, serving the Fasano's signature Northern Italian cuisine. The ground floor is home to Baretto, a bar featuring live jazz and bossa nova, and Fasano Restaurant, long considered the best restaurant in Brazil.
