Program: A 1.2 million-square-foot regional medical center set on 181 acres with 386 private patient rooms and 338 licensed beds.
Design concept and solution: The design of the brick-clad Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend is inspired by the lodges of the Northwest from its porte cochère to the Douglas fir lobby ceiling, which features wood milled from the project site. A stone fireplace welcomes visitors. Custom wood casework, molding, and light sconces create a residential feel in clinical areas.
