Program: Two 25,000-square-foot lobbies.

Design concept and solution: Century Plaza Towers, originally designed by Minoru Yamasaki and constructed in 1975, featured an open-air lobby. However, in order to meet today’s security demands, and the evolution of vehicular access and valet services to the towers, Keating Khang Architecture worked to enhance the original design while altering necessary functions. The firm renovated the lobby by enclosing it with mullion-free glass that retains views as open as the ones in the original lobby. A black granite floor enhances an existing white marble wall and the stainless-steel paneled ceiling.

Site size:
220,000 sq. ft.

Total construction cost:
$ 28 Million
