Located on a lovely 30-acre countrified setting, Greenwich Academy is a private K-12 school for girls with a total of 730 students. Part of a ten year plan to expand and update the school, this new facility will serve the 250 students of the upper school, grades 9-12, and replace a demolished 1950’s building. The new 42,000-square-foot building will serve as a highly visible landmark for the upper campus, and will house four new clusters for learning—science and math; the humanities; the arts; and the library, as well as nonacademic areas. Each will be architectural distinct.

The series of modern clear glass boxes set within a more solid building will weave together the architecture with the landscape. The uninterrupted landscape carpet of the upper campus is extended by the new facility, creating a new perimeter, overlooking a lake and fields. The expansion is expected to be completed in mid-2002.
