Program: The 144,000-square-foot facility features a 750-seat theater, a 350-seat theater, administrative offices, production facilities, dressing rooms, rehearsal space, a box office, a recording studio, and a kitchen.
Design concept and solution: Rafael Viñoly Architects exposed the inner workings of the theater to the community it serves via a four-story rounded glass facade. The two inner theaters were designed to adjust to diverse performance staging. Metal shutters open the center stage to either audience volume it is centered between, or to both simultaneously.
