Program: The project included 20,000 square feet of new construction, the renovation of 6,500 square feet of classroom space, and the renovation of a 5,100-square-foot library.

Design concept and solution: The architects added new classroom space to the Earl Flansburgh-designed 1971 brick and concrete modernist building and renovated portions of the existing school for pre-school through ninth grade students. To create harmony between the older building and the addition, the architects incorporated red brick into the new facade to match the existing structure. Pre-patina copper in the window bays and curtain wall system adds textured qualities to the new construction and complements the exposed concrete surfaces of the original building.
