Editor's Bookmarks - March 2010

Each month RECORD reviews building product related web sites and blogs that might be of interest to our readership. We visit each site, kick the tires a bit, and share what it is about and how it functions. Please let us know if there is a site you've found particularly useful, well-designed, or easy to navigate. — Rita Catinella Orrell

The Georgia-Pacific Design Studio is a free, web-based design tool intended to help architects, general contractors, sub-contractors, and other visitors configure building envelopes and interiors. The tool will help architects create a project, configure elevations, doors, windows, and more in order to generate an estimate, CAD drawings, and project specifications based on the products selected and send them directly to contractors for a bid. Compatible with Autodesk Revit and other 2-D and 3-D modeling applications, the tool allows specifiers to take a BIM and import the data directly into the tool, plus export the selections back into the BIM for true 3D modeling.
