February 2005
Bradley has introduced the first light-powered handwashing
fixture in the industry. Bradleys ndite technology uses
photovoltaic cells integrated into the top of the Express
Lavatory System to convert light into electricity. Whether
natural light or normal room-level lighting, the cells capture
light when it is available and store the energy for later
use in a battery-free system.

updated March 2004
Kohler has developed the Ingenium flushing system a
gravity-fed, siphon-jet system with all internal components
designed to operate concurrently to make the most efficient
use of 1.6 gallons of water. These toilets provide flushing
performance that is comparable to Kohler's previous 3.5-gallon
models. By using only 1.6 gallons of water per flush, the
Ingenium flushing conserves up to 11,000 gallons of water
per year for a family of four.
Kohlers Cimarron Comfort Height toilet features Class
Five technology to ensure a powerful flush. The commercial-grade
toilet, designed for both residential and commercial use,
offers chair-height seating, strong gravity-fed flushing power
with a 3 1/4'' flush valve, and the option of a 1.6 or 1.4
gallon flush. Over one year a family of four can save over
2,000 gallons of water by using the 1.4-gallon setting instead
of the 1.6 industry standard.

March 2006 updated
Sloan Valve Company's Water Conservation Division has numerous
plumbing systems that are designed to conserve water and/or
energy, while delivering reliable performance.
Solis is an electronic, solar-powered faucet that operates
via ambient lighting. Solis features an integrated-power-plant
storage cell that transforms light from any source into electrical
energy. Batteries provide back-up energy and last several
years. The single-hole faucet comes standard with integral
temperature control, a 0.5-gallon-per-minute aerator to regulate
water flow, and an electronic sensor for ³hands-free²
operation that turns water on and off automatically.
Sloan's complete line of manual and electronic Flushometers
also incorporate features that conserve water. Sloan's newest
manual Flushometer, the UPPERCUT Flushometer with its patent-pending
dual-flush handle, enables users to choose from two water-conserving
flush options: Either tilt the handle up to flush liquid waste
with a 1.1-gallon flush, or push the handle down for a standard
1.6-gallon, low-consumption flush. The handle has an antimicrobial
coating to protect against germs and is colored green to signify
it is an environmentally friendly fixture. On other Flushometers
in the Sloan product line, features such as the non-hold-open
handle and no external volume adjustment ensure they remain
low water- consumption fixtures.
