Architectural Record put out a call for
submissions from university design studios that dealt in one
way or another with the site of the World Trade Center. The
responses below represent several classes that approached
the site or the issue of a memorial, and one that focused
exclusively on a program for rebuilding St. Nicholas, a Greek
Orthodox church that was destroyed in the towers' collapse.
In addition, several students submitted proposals on their
own, and one student-organized design competition provided
a group of solutions.
RECORD continues to welcome student
designs for the site, either through a professor's submission
of a group of work, or through individual submissions. For
