His long-empty American Center has just
been converted into the Cinématheque Francaise (RECORD,
7/5/05). But Frank Gehry is working on another Paris project:
a 6,337-square-foot center for contemporary art in Paris for
LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault. The site is the Jardin dAcclimatation,
a childrens park on the western edge of the city. The
1960s Musée National des Arts et Traditions Populaires,
also found within the park, will close its doors this fall
and be demolished, leaving parkland available for the project.
