National Trust Names 11 Most Endangered Places

The National Trust for Historic Preservation recently announced its 2004 list of "America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places," including Edward Durell Stone's 2 Columbus Circle in New York and Richard Neutra's George Kraigher House, in Brownsville, Texas.

Other endangered places are:

The Ridgewood Ranch, Home of Seabiscuit, in Willits, California
Bethlehem Steel Plant in Bethlehem, Pennsylvannia
Elkmont Historic District in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee
Gullah/Geechee Coast in South Carolina and Georgia
Tobacco Barns of Southern Maryland
Madison-Lenox Hotel in Detroit
Historic Cook County Hospital in Chicago
Nine Mile Canyon in Carbon and Duchesne counties, Utah
The State of Vermont
