Denver architect Curt Dale, FAIA, a partner
in the firm Anderson Mason Dale, died this past weekend in
an avalanche while on a ski trip. He was 57.
Dale was skiing at the Pine Creek Trailhead
with his 25-year-old son Chris and a friend, Bob Redwine,
a structural engineer with Redwine-Rezian. Both Chris Dale
and Bob Redwine survived.
Dale joined the practice in 1978 and
became a partner in 1980. John Anderson, FAIA, one of his
partners in practice, was the American Institute of Architects
(AIA) national president in 2001. The firm designed the $40
million reconstruction of the entrance at Mount Rushmore and
its new visitors center in 1998.
Andy Nielsen, AIA, a principal with Anderson
Mason Dale, told RECORD, Curt was a role model, rock-solid
guy, and an exceptional architect in the biggest sense of
the word. He put his heart and soul in all aspects of the
profession. He was a real steady hand for our firm and he
will certainly be missed.
John E. Czarnecki, Assoc. AIA
