Last week in New Orleans the U.S. Green Building Council fulfilled a promise it made—after hurricanes Katrina and Rita pounded the Gulf Coast in 2005—to bring the organization’s annual Greenbuild show to the Big Easy. Held for the first time at the city’s Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Greenbuild officially kicked off last Wednesday with an opening plenary and party at the renovated Mercedes-Benz Superdome, a symbol of the region’s resiliency and rebirth.

Here we present some highlights from this year's convention, including new products introduced on an expo floor many exhibitors and attendees noted was noticeably quieter than last year in Philadelphia. Click on the slide show above.
